This piston cooling oil jet fits the Transit 2.2, Ranger 2.2. It bolts into the block gallery and sprays a metered jet of oil at the underside of the piston crown, which pulls heat out of the crown and keeps the ring belt and skirt at a workable temperature on a diesel that spends its life at high load.
When a jet blocks, leaks at the banjo joint or loses its spray pattern, the first sign is usually piston scuffing or a temperature-related knock that only shows up hot. Replacing the jet is cheap compared with a piston, so it is worth doing whenever the sump is off.

Fits Transit 2.2, Ranger 2.2 using the Puma 2.2 TDCi Duratorq diesel engine. Cross-reference numbers include BK2Q-6K868-BA, BK2Q6K868BA, BK2Q-6K868-AA and 1711498. Please check the number on the old part: Ford used more than one revision across the production run.
Work on a cold engine. The jet sits under the piston skirt, so access is from the sump or through the block gallery depending on the application.
Remove the old jet and the banjo bolt, and check the oil gallery for debris before fitting the new unit.
Fit the new jet with a fresh copper washer, torque the banjo bolt to the figure in the workshop manual, and confirm the spray direction points at the piston underside crown.
Refill with the specified oil, run the engine and check for leaks at the banjo joint.
Each jet is wrapped individually, boxed by set and marked with the part number. Stock ships in 3-7 days; volume orders are quoted with the current lead time. We can combine this item with other Puma 2.2 TDCi engine parts in one shipment.
We stock Ford Transit and Land Rover Puma engine parts and identify parts from casting numbers and photos when the original label is gone. Send us a picture of your old jet if you are unsure between the -BA and -AA revisions.
